Duration

Role

Overview

Helping runners with marathon preparation and getting comprehensive support, including access to personalized training plans, online personal trainers, and a convenient track finder feature. Designed to address the diverse needs of runners, our app offers a seamless and user-friendly experience tailored to individual fitness levels and goals.

I worked closely with user research, a content designer, and 5 engineers with the goal of creating a new app that better addressed the emotional and phisical needs of our users.

01 Market Research

02 User Research

Taking the results into consideration we decided to dedicate our app mostly to runners, who use running apps with local tracks without fear of losing progress data

In order to support previous data, we also conducted 20-minute interviews among 5 potential users to get qualitative data to help us design the app more precisely considering the true needs and motivations of future users.

03 Affinity Diagram and Empathy Map

To summarise the results of our user research we first created an Affinity Diagram in which we decided on the main pain points for our future app:

  • Personal trainer

  • Local trucks

  • Check progress

04 User Persona and His Journey Map

We went for Speedy Planner Pablo who is an ambitious architect in her 30’s, working a lot. He cares about his well-being and he loves outdoor activities, so he is regularly going for running.

05 Problem Statement

06 Ideation

And the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is…:

The goal of our app, To provide busy users with local track options and the ability to connect with real personal trainers, along with a data recovery feature

07 Site Map

08 Lo-fi & mid-fi wireframes

09 After conducting 5 concept tests we discover weak points of our app and made some changes

Add the address of the local trucks

  • increase the size of too-small icons and text

  • change the diagram of the progress information

10 Defining Visual Elements: Looking closer at UI elements

Brand attributes for Mindful Run:

  • connected

  • active

  • minimalist

  • social

We put together a visual competitor analysis studying the top three competitors: Adidas Run, Goals-Fitnes, and Strava visual features such as color palettes, fonts used, button styles, and the look and feel of each app. Interesting to notice that the color palettes between all apps are very similar, all based on white background, with black, green, orange, and light greys.
